Who we are
SmartDongle™ is a division of MicroWorks, Inc., a software development company. Since our revenue comes from selling software, we know about piracy and unauthorized use of software. We use the SmartDongle for licensing our own software because every payment for every copy of our software is important, just as it is for you.
The idea is to provide an affordable deterrent to piracy and unauthorized use of applications for all companies regardless of size. To this end, we launched our SmartDongle division in 2002.
Our Philosophy
We strive to be a customer friendly company, willing to do custom work for you to help ensure that our product meets your needs. We won’t tie you down to standard and predictable solutions. We want you to have the flexibility to be creative and outwit potential pirates and hackers. What is done with this freedom is entirely up to you, but we will be available to assist you in integrating the SmartDongle USB security key into any of your products.
We do not believe in security through obscurity. Our APIs are open for all of our customers to see. This makes it easy to use on other operating systems and development platforms.
